Honoree Spotlight - Camille Paredes

My name is Camille Paredes and I am the Administrative Fellow at NYU Hospital for Joint Diseases. I have joined the fight against Arthritis as a Team Captain for HJD because I’ve witnessed firsthand the negative impact Arthritis has on my beautiful grandmother. My grandmother is 87 years old; she has a vibrant and outgoing personality, but I see the pain she experiences when she walks up and down the stair case or merely standing up from sitting down. I owe my grandmother the beautiful life that I have as she raised my mother to be the most amazing woman I know. I dedicate this walk to my grandma because she deserves the chance to know we’re on her side! Thanks to the support of my family and friends I have raised over $1,000 by sending out emails and posting on Facebook.

The Arthritis Walk^® is the signature fundraising event for the Arthritis Foundation. But it's not just an event, it's a celebration of year-round movement to help prevent and treat arthritis.

Every year we get together to celebrate movement and make a positive impact on the lives of people living with arthritis by raising funds for arthritis research, education and life improvement programs in communities across the country.
